About Laura
The second of four daughters, Laura is outspoken, impulsive and prone to fits of kindness, though the outspoken parts of he rnature often get her in a bit of trouble.
As a child, she was closest to younger sister, Beth. Beth’s quiet, demure and compassionate personality often served as a foil for Laura’s more outgoing and adventuring nature.
As young women, Laura and her sisters worked to help their Mother support the family when their father went off to the war. During that time, Laura went to work as her Aunt’s companion to help earn mone for the family. Her Aunt, a proper woman well-studied in how young ladies should behave, was constantly trying to improve Laura’s manners, dress and comportment. Laura resisted and the relationship was strained. When Beth got Scarlet Fever, Laura stayed home to care for her, and her sister Amy became her Aunt’s companion. Both were happier, but like most things in life, forged new life paths for them all.
Unlike most girls, Laura’s best friend was the boy next door – Laurie. Night and day – Laurie lived as an only child in a well-heeled home, with everything financial comfort can offer. But children grow up and turn to men and women. A child’s friendship changes and turns to other things. Laurie’s friendship for Laura matured and grew, but when he proposed it was clear Laura’s hadn’t.
Three great passions molded her childhood – her family, her writing, her friend. When Beth died, and missing her best friend, Laura turned to her writing. She moved to Los Angeles, where she lives now. Still dreaming of becoming a writer.
