There is scenery everwhere!  The rain has stopped, the roads are pretty clear and the rock climbs to the sky in shades of red , yellow and brown.   And the plains are green from the rain – in contrast to the red clay.   The clouds are whites and grays, hanging low over the rock and blue sky pokes out between.  It’s like driving through a Hollywood backdrop.

We briefly considered a detour to Monument Valley but we wouldn’t be able to really do it justice.  It deserves full attention.  Another time ..

So it’s off to California and then Nevada by dinnertime!
