Good Morning, Ohio!
June 7, 2010 No CommentsWell, our plan was to do 1,013 miles on day one. Insead, we did 1142.4 … we owe it to the restorative powers of Cracker Barrel.
After dragging in 20 minutes before they closed – weren’t we the popular girls! – we left feeling revived and drove another 130 miles. Admittedly, the rejuvination was helped along by the $99.99 rate we were quoted at the Hampton Inn, cuz seriously? $99.99 for a room in a town too small to have a name – just an intersection on the highway? And, in our case, $99.99 for 5 hours .
We pulled in to the lovely two star Comfort Inn Toledo North around midnight and decided to sleep in this morning. Alarm didn’t go off until 3:55am.
The Tim Horton’s was open for coffee and a quick shout out to JZ, the bitter donut boy. Seems one of the other Horton’s broke thier oven, so JZ was called in to work at midnight – you know he always gets the dirty work, while Melissa just had two full days off. Well, all I can tell you is that when she gets to work this morning, she’s going to have to do her own work, he’s not cleaning the coffee machine for her.
So here we start …
Mileage: 1,142.4
Time: 5:19am
Starting point: Somewhere north of Toledo, Ohio
